Parquet Flooring
We specialise in parquet flooring which is available in many wood species and finishes. The most popular woods are Oak, Merbau,Maple and Walnut. Parquet flooring can be laid in a variety of designs – herring bone, basket weave and chevron to name a few. Some parquet is individual blocks whilst other comes on mesh backed panels. Most parquet flooring is installed unfinished and after installation is sanded to smooth and sealed with either Junckers or Bona lacquer or Osmo or Marldon hard-wax oil depending on personal choice. Parquet is also available as a pre finished product (already oiled or lacquered). Our experts are happy to discuss bespoke designs to include decorative borders and marquetry.
Solid Wood Flooring
Solid wood flooring is available in a variety of species- the most popular are Oak, Walnut, Maple and Cherry. Within this choice different grades can be chosen i.e. character or prime to suit any home whether traditional or modern. This type of flooring is available unfinished, where the boards are sanded and sealed with lacquer or oil after installation or pre finished where the boards are supplied already sealed). Sometimes an extra coat of oil or lacquer is recommended after installation by the manufacturer). Wood flooring is clean and easy to maintain and will add style value and elegance to any home .Varying widths are available to suit your home . We can also supply reclaimed flooring which is a popular choice for our customers who have a character property and prefer the rustic charm of a wood floor.
Engineered Flooring
Engineered boards consist of 3 bonded layers of wood. The bottom layer is ply, the middle is a softwood and the top layer the chosen wood species ( usually 4-6mm in depth). The flooring is laid by secret nailing, glue or on an underlay, depending on the type of sub floor. Various species of wood are available with options of 1-2 or 3 strip designs. Many engineered floors are compatible with under floor heating. With a 6mm top wear layer this flooring can also be sanded a couple of times.
